Win The Monk on DVD – CLOSED

We’re offering three lucky readers the opportunity to win The Monk on DVD. Starring Vincent Cassel and directed by Dominik Moll the film is an adaptation of a novel that charters the rise and fall of a monk in 17th Century Madrid. The film is released on DVD 20th August 2012 and we’re giving three readers the chance to win the film on DVD.

Reminiscent of other dark religious dramas such as Jean-Jacques Annaud’s The Name of The Rose, The Monk succeeds in conjuring an affecting representation of the stern and unforgiving nature of organised religion, which was so pervasive in centuries past. Managing to avoid overdoing it with lashings of Gothic tropes, the film is a subdued and genuinely enthralling take on Lewis’s novel.
